MTM converts 17,500 books in two weeks - Textalk Webarch
MTM protects its audiobook library from unauthorized distribution – 17,500 DAISY titles converted to EPUB in the cloud using Webarch, in under two weeks.
The Swedish Agency for Accessible Media (MTM) makes literature available to people with reading impairments. When new requirements were introduced to prevent unauthorized sharing and enable content traceability, MTM needed to complement its existing DAISY catalog with EPUB versions – in a format supporting DRM and digital watermarking.
Challenge: Large-scale conversion – without moving any data
The project involved:- Converting 17,500 DAISY titles into structured and validated EPUB
- Ensuring files were prepared for protection under the new requirements
- Avoiding duplication or manual handling to save time and reduce risk
Solution: Cloud-based batch conversion – directly from Azure Blob Storage
Using Webarch’s batch EPUB converter, we created a workflow where:- Files were accessed directly from MTM’s Azure Blob Storage
- Each title was converted on-the-fly to EPUB with correct structure and metadata
- The output was saved to a new folder on the same storage – without ever leaving the cloud
Result: A secured EPUB library – delivered in just two weeks
